There are times when, in an OKR framework, alignment must come from the bottom up. An individual contributor may have a better insight into customers’ thoughts, not reaching the executive level necessarily. Individual contributors can align with someone in their team or other teams, adding their key result as a key result to one or more of their objectives. The conversation module in goal-setting software allows you to exchange communication among the different employees of the organization, ideally the user, team manager, and contributor(s), in the form of text comments about any given OKR.
